Cafes you need to try in Mysore.

When you’re in a historical town like Mysore, foodies are in for a treat. Mysore pack, a dessert packed with ghee and love hails from Mysore, apart from this the City has a vast number of restaurants, cafes and food joints that serve delicious and exciting dishes from around world.

Cafe culture was quite popular in Europe, these places primarily served coffee. Just like everything else in your live cafe’s have evolved and today it serves more than coffee, you get to enjoy snacks and cakes with coffee. Cafes have become favourite hanging stop among friends and families these days. Cafe’s have a unique personality of its own, now you can play and watch movies at coffee. My favourite and go to cafes in Mysore are:

1. Rhythms and Brew

The name itself tells you all you need to know about this cafe. Rhythms and brew is a cute and romantic hub located in Mysore. I love spending time here, coffee served here is freshly brewed. The cafe is filled with books, as a book lover, I am instantly fell in love with the place if your looking for a place to unwind after a long week with a book and some coffee do visit Rhythms and brew. Apart from the book, this place has live music, from guitar, flute to drums, you have it all. Pick an instrument of your choice and start playing. Yes, that’s right it is as simple as that. The food they serve is also yum, I loved their pasta. The place comes to life in the evening if you want to visit ensure you go after 6 pm. Rhythms and brew are on the top of my go-to places at home.

2. Chai Patte:

This cafe was recommended by a friend of mine. Chai Patte translates to tea leaves. The place is known for teas, the menu has a variety of tea from all over the world. The best part of their menu was it came in a comic book, after ordering you can enjoy old comics. Their seating is pretty artistic, each wall of this cafe has a story of its own, the owner has used old records, tapes and pictures of Mysore as decor. This cafe screams Mysore as I would like to remember it. Serene, artistic yet filed with a vibrant personality. When I visited this place it was late afternoon, so I couldn’t try any food. But I am sure it would be as good as their chai or tea. The thing I loved the most about this cafe was the swing that functioned as seating. All in all a perfect place to have tea and reflect on yourself.

3. White Lantern:

This cafe I discovered it very recently with a friend of mine, the place is a fusion between a cafe and a restaurant. Something like a resto-cafe. The place is located on a terrace with cute and high seating. They have used blue and white as their colour palette for decor. Both these colour bring helps us to relax and let go of our aggressive nature. The cafe is a vegetarian one, their menu has a veg version of Asian and Italian dishes. Mysore as such is usually calm and places like these make me want to stay in Mysore.
